The phone receptionist I built
A lot of the owners I meet lose the same thing every week. Calls that come in while everyone is out on a job, and calls that come in after hours. The caller hangs up, tries the next number on the list, and the work goes somewhere else. Nobody has time to sit by the phone, and a voicemail does not get returned fast enough to matter.
I wanted to see how much of that first conversation a machine could handle without the caller feeling handled. So I built a receptionist that answers the call, asks for the name, the number, the address, and what the job is, and writes all of it into the system before the caller hangs up. By the time someone in the office looks, the lead is already there, with enough detail to call back.
What it does not do
It does not decide anything, it does not give a price, and it does not try to close the caller. It takes the details and hands them to a person. If the caller would rather speak to someone, it says so plainly and logs that too.
The recording
The lead is in the system before the caller hangs up.
